“Women in business” program to be launched in Uzbekistan by EBRD

On November 16, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan (CBU) hosted a meeting between representatives of the CBU and Mission of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) headed by Ms. Karin Geno de Lamarliere.

In the course of the meeting, the parties discussed the potential readiness of the market for the new program “Women in Business” which is being considered by the EBRD to launch in Uzbekistan.

Within the framework of the discussions, special attention was paid to the prospects for the development of financing small and medium entrepreneurship, especially businesswomen, regulation of credit sector, as well as issues of financial affordability.
