Russia temporarily bans import of fruits & vegetables by passengers from Uzbekistan
The Federal Service for veterinary and phytosanitary supervision of Russia has officially informed the Uzbek side on the existing restrictions delivering plant-based products in the luggage and carry-on baggage by passengers arriving from Uzbekistan, press service of the Russian MFA reported.
The corresponding letter notes:
“The “Rosselkhoznadzor” introduced temporary restrictions on the import of products of plant origin into the Russian Federation in luggage and carry-on baggage of passengers arriving from Uzbekistan. It is connected with the systematic detection of quarantine objects in regulated products. This is guided by paragraph 1a of Article VII of the Convention from April 16, 2012”.
