Issuance of driving licenses may be transferred to private firms

In Uzbekistan, the issuance of driver’s licenses may be transferred to private firms. A draft decree of the head of state “On measures to further reduce the role of the state in the economy” appeared on the Evaluation System of Legislative Acts portal.

The draft document refers to the transfer of certain types of services to private sector entities. In particular, it is proposed to give the right to issue driving permits to private firms.

It should be noted that firms that deal with this type of service will be licensed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
