Uzbek Ministry of Public Education, UN discussed issues of ensuring rights of children in the system of education
On December 5, 2018, the Minister of Public Education of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov received the Chairperson of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child Renate Winter.
The meeting was also attended by members of the UN delegation headed by the UNICEF Representative to Uzbekistan Sascha Graumann.
Within the framework of the meeting, the parties discussed the issues of protection of children’s’ rights in the system of public education.
In particular, the sides exchanged views on the issues of improving the system of working with children that are difficult to train and inclusive education in Uzbekistan on the basis of advanced foreign experience was also considered.
According to the proposal of the Ministry of Public Education, the parties agreed to create a working group which improves the system of working with children that are difficult to train and develops proposals to ensure the rights of children with disabilities.
