On December 10, 2018, Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the delegation of the United States of America led by the Special Representative of the US Secretary of State for Afghan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad, MFA reported.
The Deputy Assistant to the President of the United States for National Security, Senior Director for South and Central Asia Lisa Curtis also took part in the conversation.

When discussing the prospects for a peaceful settlement in Afghanistan, the parties once again confirmed that there is no military solution to the problem. The importance of the Tashkent Conference on Afghanistan and the Declaration adopted following the event was stressed.
None of the Afghans should remain outside this political process. The world community should contribute to the consolidation of the entire Afghan society around national interests in the name of peace and prosperity in the country.
In this context, the parties supported the Peace Program for Afghanistan proposed by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani recently in Geneva.
The meeting also examined the practical aspects of the implementation of large infrastructure projects and other socio-economic facilities in Afghanistan.
