US Special Representative for Afghanistan visits Uzbekistan
On December 9, 2018, Zalmay Khalilzad, the Special Representative of the US Secretary of State for Afghan Reconciliation, and Lisa Curtis, Deputy Assistant to the President of the United States for National Security, Senior Director for South and Central Asia, arrived in Uzbekistan.
The American delegation is expected to meet with Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The program of the visit includes meetings and negotiations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Institute of Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan.
It should be noted that the U.S. special representative for the Afghan truce, within the framework of his visit, will also tour Pakistan, Afghanistan, Russia, Turkmenistan, Belgium, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar with an inter-departmental delegation.
