On Dec. 10, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan launched another new international bus route in the direction “Turkestan – Tashkent”.
The new bus route on a parity basis is served by the Kazakhstan carrier Bakdaulet Service LLP and Uzavtotrans Agency.
The total length of the route is 335 kilometers. Travel time is 6 hours and 40 minutes. Two buses run daily in two directions. The departure time from the city of Turkestan (from the bus station “Altyn Orda”) at 07:00 and 17:00, and from Tashkent (from the bus station “Tashkent”) - 08:00, 18:00 (Astana time). Technical stop time is 30 minutes. The fare is 2,000 tenge or 50,000 soums.
The opening of the international bus route “Turkestan – Tashkent” will help increase the flow of tourists between the two countries, the formation of new tourist routes and strengthen cooperation.
It should be reminded that the bus service between the countries was absent since the mid-90s of the last century. However, in early January 2018, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan once again launched a direct international bus service on the route “Tashkent-Shymkent”, and in April on the route “Tashkent-Almaty”.
