Sherzod Shermatov commented on the issues of installing cameras at schools

The Ministry of Public Education (MPE) considers the experience of installing cameras at school classes to be positive, but there is no fund yet to allocate for this project, Kun.uz correspondent reports referring to the statement of the Minister of Public Education Sherzod Shermatov.

“Cameras help us. Recently, we were in a private school in Khorezm region. Cameras were placed in each class. The school owner himself personally studies the situation through cameras and even once revealed a case in which pupils were not treated well by the teacher. Consequently, the teacher has been dismissed. Another important point is that parents can monitor the situation at schools by themselves,” Mr. Shermatov said.

However, he added, there is no certain budget for the installation of cameras, because it is quite expensive facility.

“We are ready to consider if there are some options based on a public-private partnership for installing cameras at schools. We can think of several options and install them step by step. It is important to understand that before the fixing cameras, the government still has many more issues to support schools in the areas. For example, heating, supply of drinking water and security are elementary issues. When we talk about the priorities of state funding, installation of cameras is not a priority,” head of the Ministry of Public Education noted.
