Central Bank opposes the draft document on the withdrawal of tax arrears from plastic cards
The Central Bank of Uzbekistan has opposed the draft document on the withdrawal of tax arrears from plastic cards, Kun.uz correspondent reports.
It should be recalled that the other day on the portal of draft normative-legal acts, the Regulation on the procedure for the unconditional deduction of tax debt from plastic cards of individuals was prepared by the State Tax Committee and submitted for discussion.
“In connection with the placement of the draft Regulation on the procedure for unconditional withdrawal of tax debts from bank plastic cards of individuals which was placed on the Portal of interactive state services, the Central Bank reports that it sent its remarks to the project developer - the State Tax Committee,” the Central Bank’s press service noted.
According to the Central Bank, due to the lack of a legal and transparent mechanism at the moment for the unconditional withdrawal of tax debt from individuals' bank cards, the regulator considers that it is necessary to ensure the compliance of the draft document with legislation, in particular with the norms of the Civil Code.
“No matter how good the intentions are, departmental interests should not adversely affect the development of other industries or the country's economy as a whole. The Central Bank, in turn, will pay particular attention to the proposed changes from the standpoint of the backbones of banking secrecy and impeccable trust in the banking system,” the Central Bank noted.
