Indian “Kusum Healthcare” to establish a pharmaceutical plant in Uzbekistan 

An Indian company “Kusum Healthcare Pvt. Ltd.” plans to establish in Uzbekistan a plant for producing a wide range of drugs. 

This was announced following the negotiations between representatives of the Indian company and State Investment Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan. 
 
It should be recalled that at the end of September 2018, during the official visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to India, an agreement was signed between “Kusum Healthcare” and Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry to organize the production of painkillers, antibiotics, antifungal and anti-rheumatic drugs worth $ 5 million. 
 
“On December 20, a visit to the Free Economic Zones “Bustonlik-farm” and “Parkent-farm” was organized for representatives of the Indian company. The foreign delegation got acquainted with the existing conditions, infrastructure, facilities those are being built by other companies and discussed preliminary locations for building the plant,” the Committee noted. 
 
For information, “Kusum Healthcare” has 20 years of experience in the international pharmaceutical market. It has two production divisions - one of them is located in Bhiwadi (Rajasthan, India) and the second is in Sumy (a city in Ukraine). The product range is designed for 18 different segments. Currently, the company is widely represented in the markets of Ukraine and Kazakhstan. 
 
“In the course of the meeting, the Indian side expressed interest in creating a joint venture or fully-owned enterprise. The investment project is planned to be implemented in 2020. In early 2019, marketing research will be completed to implement the next step in setting up a business plan,” the State Investment Committee reported.
