Uzbekistan to plant cotton on more than 1 million hectares of land in 2019
A governmental resolution has been adopted on the planting of cotton varieties and forecast volumes of cotton production in 2019. The Ministry of Justice reported about it via its telegram channel “Legal Information”.
According to the resolution, in 2019, it is planned to plant cotton on more than 1 million hectares of land.
Moreover, the administrations and responsible organizations are instructed to increase the control over the usage of land plots which becomes available as a result of reducing cotton fields in 2019.
The average national procurement price of the cotton fiber (industrial variety 2, class 1) per ton, produced from the 2019 harvest, is set at 4,000,000 soums.
In 2019, cotton seeds will be planted under the foil on 50,000 hectares in Andijan region.
Cotton seeds in 2019 will be sold at VAT-free prices to the JSC “Uzpakhtasanoat”, cotton-textile manufacturers and cluster organizations, including farmers.
Besides, in compliance with the State Register, cotton-textile manufacturers and organizers of clusters were exclusively given a right to place cotton varieties independently in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and regions of the country.
