Kyrgyzstan’s ex-PM Sapar Isakov’s arrest extended until February 13
Pervomay district court of Bishkek extended the investigation and arrest of former Kyrgyz Prime Minister Sapar Isakov until February 13, 2019, Kyrgyz media reported with reference to his attorney Nurbek Toktakunov.
The attorney said they motioned for his client's release "now that the investigation is done and there is no need to keep him under arrest."
He added that his client handed over all his passports to the authorities and cannot flee the country if released.
Sapar Isakov was detained on June 5 in connection with criminal probe into modernization of the Bishkek combined heat and power plant. He is held in the Kyrgyz National Security Committee's remand prison ever since on suspicion of corruption.
