Prosecutor General’s Office commented on the case of the Yunusabad’s former khokim who was caught red-handed while taking $400,000 in bribe
The Prosecutor General’s Office commented on the course of the criminal case initiated against the former khokim of the Yunusabad district of Tashkent Bakhtiyor Abdusamatov, and other officials involved in the case.
As head of the public relations and legal information department of the Prosecutor General’s Office Surayyo Rakhmonova told Kun.uz correspondent, the ex-khokim of the district is charged with articles 210 (receiving bribes), 211 (giving bribes) and 168 (fraud) of the Criminal Code. Currently, investigations are underway.
It should be recalled that Bakhtiyor Abdusamatov was detained in September, 2018 while taking $400,000 in bribe from an investor. He promised him land in exchange for the money.
Bakhtiyor Abdusamatov, born in 1976, graduated from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (1996) and Tashkent State University of Economics (2003).
Throughout his career, he worked as Deputy Minister of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade and Chairman of the State Committee for Nature Protection of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
