President to visit Germany on January 20-22

Shavkat Mirziyoyev will visit the Federal Republic of Germany on January 20-22.

As part of preparation for the visit, Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas on November 8, 2018.

During the meeting, topical issues of bilateral relations and prospects for the development of cooperation in political-diplomatic, trade-economic, investment, cultural-humanitarian and other areas, including in the Uzbekistan-European Union format, were discussed.

Also, the Special Representative of the Uzbek President for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with Markus Potzel, Special Representative of the Federal Government of Germany for Afghanistan and Pakistan, the foreign ministry said. The parties discussed the ways to attract financial resources to speed up the projects for construction of the Mazari-Sharif – Herat railway, the Surkhan – Poli-Khomri overhead lines, automobile roads and other infrastructure facilities in Afghanistan.
