Uzbekistan, Belgium to co-op in health care system
On January 12, 2019, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Belgium Dilyor Khakimov met with the General Director of the international company Agfa, Jan Luis, the MFA said.
During the conversation, the parties exchanged views and studied ways of expanding bilateral cooperation.
The company representatives highly appreciated the reforms in Uzbekistan in the field of public health, carried out under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Of particular interest to foreign partners was the implementation of the Presidential Decree signed in December 2018 “On comprehensive measures to fundamentally improve the health system of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, in which one of the priorities was to increase the efficiency, quality and accessibility of medical care, including through the introduction of high-tech diagnostic methods.
Following the talks, the parties agreed to develop a joint action plan on expanding cooperation.
The company representatives expressed interest to visit Uzbekistan in early February this year to determine the specific needs and priorities of our country’s health system.
