Bishkek protests against Chinese expansion goes viral
A rally against Chinese expansion is taking place on Ala-Too square in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. At first, the protest organizer Amanbol Babakulov voiced only a few demands, but their number increased during the protest, Kyrgyz media said.
They are, in particular, to create people’s control, reduce the number of visas issued to Chinese citizens, check the received Chinese loans, find out their feasibility and effectiveness. In case of their unfoundedness, a specially created commission should find out in whose pocket the money is.
Protesters are demanding from Kyrgyz girls not marry foreigners, otherwise a newly wedded couple must pay a fine.
In addition, they require the return of nationality column in the passport.
It should be noted that the protesters spoke in favor of the abolition of the party system at the election of deputies of Parliament and the cessation of persecution of those who speak on behalf of the people.
