SSS Border Troops prevent smuggling of 2,5 kg narcotics and millions-soums worth commodity goods
According to the press service of the Customs Committee, the country's border guards detained a large amount of drug and material assets in late January and early February this year.
On January 29, a citizen of the Republic of Uzbekistan S. Khayitov was detained by the border guards at the border area “Tutzor” in Tashkent district. Upon inspecting his personal belongings, around 2 kilograms and 500 grams of drug substances (1 kg and 900 grams of marijuana and 600 grams of hashish) were detected.

On the same day, citizen Z. Ortikov was detained by border guards at the border checkpoint “Zarkent” in the Namangan region. He attempted to cross the Uzbek border in his Mercedes car importing illegally 57 television sets and 2 electric stoves (worth 172 million soums).

On February 1, 2019, a citizen of Tajikistan F. Kholmatov was arrested in Bekabad district of Tashkent region for attempting to smuggle goods and commodities. He illegally attempted to import cigarettes worth 100 million soums (9,600 boxes of cigarettes) through the border.

Relevant measures have been taken within the framework of the current legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan in relation to detainees.
