Tashkent to host the I Open Championship of the Central Asian Fencing Confederation

The I Open Championship of the Central Asian Fencing Confederation will be held in Tashkent’s gymnastics sports complex on February 15-17, the National Olympic Committee reported.
More than 150 juniors and cadets from Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan will compete for prizes using foil, epee and saber. Competitions will begin on February 15 at 10:00.
On January 25, 2019, the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan conducted a state registration of the Central Asian Confederation of Fencing, which unites the fencing federations of Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. This tournament will be the debut for the new Confederation.
