Electricity consumption debts exceeded 2 trillion soums in 2018
In 2018, the population and legal entities owed the JSC Uzbekenergo more than 2 trillion soums. This was reported to Kun.uz correspondent by the deputy chairman of the company for finance and economics Jakhongir Obidjonov.
“Last year debt exceeded 2 trillion soums. Most of the portion accounts for population – 1,4 trillion soums. The largest debt is in Samarkand, Tashkent and Kashkadarya regions,” Mr. Obidjonov said.
According to the estimates of Uzbekenergo, more than 30% of the population steals electricity. At the same time, the organization is confident that after full implementation of the automated system for controlling and metering electricity consumption (ASCMEC) throughout the country, problems with debts and theft will be solved. The system should cover the entire population of Uzbekistan no later than December 1, 2021.
“ASCMEC will end all the shortcomings. A lot of problems have been accumulated over the years. We do our best to ensure that the power system functions normally. Yes, we deeply apologize to consumers who are disconnected. But they are no longer on the scale that was 2-3 years ago. In future, all disorders will only shrink. I am sure that we will reach the level, when the ASCMEC works, who pays for it, he will receive electricity,” the first deputy chairman of the JSC Uzbekenergo Ruslan Mubarakshin said.
