New Minister of Defense appointed
Major-General Bakhodir Kurbanov has been appointed Defense Minister of Uzbekistan, Kun.uz correspondent confirms.
He replaced Abdusalom Azizov, who has recently been transferred to the post of the State Security Service head.
Prior to his current appointment – since February 2018 – Bakhodir Kurbanov served as the Commander of the Tashkent Military District, which included the capital Tashkent and the Syrdarya region.
Earlier, he was the head of the Department of Internal Affairs of Tashkent city, Deputy Interior Minister.
