Huawei may be attracted to implement the “Safe city” project in Uzbekistan
The Minister for Development of IT and Communications Shukhrat Sadikov and newly appointed Director General of Huawei in Uzbekistan Liu Jiaxin discussed the prospects for development of cooperation within the framework of the investment project “Safe city”.
Creation of the single hardware-software complex “Safe city” is envisaged by a resolution of the President of Uzbekistan. It is planned to combine video surveillance systems, recording offenses, protection of objects, as well as other information systems for prevention of offenses and duty dispatch centers.
At a meeting at the Ministry, Liu Jiaxin expressed the company's willingness to strengthen and develop relations with the Uzbek side.
It should be recalled that the tender for development of the project for creating the complex “Safe city” was won by the international auditing company PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
In accordance with the decree of the head of state, the first stage of the project (until 2019) considers creation of the complex in Tashkent, the second stage (2019-2021) – in all regional centers and large cities, the third stage (2021-2023) – the whole republic.
