The Swedish company EF Language Learning Solutions has expressed its willingness to assist Uzbekistan in conducting free testing of English teachers throughout the country and determine their level of knowledge, the press service of the MPE reports.
Teachers who have successfully passed the tests can be sent to European and American universities for training and professional development. This is provided for by a memorandum of understanding signed by the Minister of Public Education of Uzbekistan (MPE) and EF Language Learning Solutions leadership.
In addition, the company offered its assistance in training Uzbek teachers on the basis of its educational certificate EF Standard English Test (recognized internationally), which is equivalent for IELTS/TOEFL. As the next stage of cooperation, the introduction of the platform “National Assessment of the Level of Education” in Uzbekistan has been defined.
As part of the signed document, the parties intend to share the best international experience in the field of human capital development. They will also cooperate in teaching foreign language teachers, including English, and assessing their knowledge.
“Among other areas of cooperation is the organization of training for the leadership of the public education system. The Swedish company will assist in organizing vocational training of specialists for strategic sectors of the economy of Uzbekistan,” the MPE said.
