Mirziyoyev instructs to develop tourism and build ecological city in Chartak

In Chartak district, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoev got acquainted with the sanatorium and rehabilitation center “Chartak resorts”, the presidential press service reports.

Complex work is carried out in accordance with the presidential instructions on the establishment of new enterprises and creating job vacancies, depending on the nature and possibilities of each region.

The hill, on which the sanatorium “Chartak resorts” is being built by, was a deserted place until recent years. Thanks to the investment worth $25 million from local entrepreneurs and foreign investors, a modern camping site covering more than 15 hectares of land is being built here.

It opens up additional opportunities for development of medical tourism and ecotourism in the region. The sanatorium’s iodine, bromine, natural radon and therapeutic water which is rich in other minerals has a good effect on the treatment of cardiovascular and nervous system, endocrine and skin diseases. The camp will have 230 seats and 250 people will be employed.

It is planned to attract the most qualified doctors and organize medical examinations with the participation of German specialists on a contractual basis. 

Currently, premises for treatment and accommodation, cottages for recreation with family and a hotel with luxury and standard rooms are being built. Solar panels are installed to illuminate the courtyard and corridors.

Another noteworthy aspect is that hippotherapy will be organized in the camp. It helps to cure the sickness of support of the base organ and small pelvis. For this purpose, stable, outdoor and indoor riding halls are being built.

In addition, four pools have been built to engage in fish farming. Along with fish feeding for the sanatorium’s canteen, opportunities to go fishing, to have a rest and relaxation will be created.

The President reviewed the conditions created at this rehabilitation center. In Chartak, he has also ordered to build more sanatoriums, covering all layers of the population by classifying them cheap, medium and expensive. Consequently, the cost of service will be reduced by ensuring competition.

“In our region, iodine is deficit. In this regard, Chartak's water rich in the iodine is very useful for our people. However, many people do not know this place and some have difficulties because of the long distance. Therefore, people from all over Uzbekistan, primarily from Karakalpakstan and Khorezm should be brought here. The health of our people, especially our children, is the most important thing for us. We need a healthy generation to develop the economy,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

The head of our state got acquainted with the project of expanding capacities of the Limited Liability Company “Chortoq mineral water”. He emphasized the need to increase water bottling up to 20-30 million units a year and supply it to all kindergartens, summer camps, hospitals, social pharmacies and supermarkets in our country.

Besides, presentations of projects on changing Chartak city to an ecological city, reconstruction of the Chartak city center within the framework of the project on developing infrastructure of medium cities in cooperation with participation of the World Bank, expansion of Namangan airport and maintaining intercity bus service, as well as providing employment on the basis of the program “Every family – entrepreneur” were held.
