During his working visit to Namangan, the President of Uzbekistan demanded that employees of law enforcement bodies and military personnel lose weight, Kun.uz correspondent reports from Namangan region.
It should be recalled that on March 1, a meeting was held in Namangan with participation of regional activists, heads of ministries and departments, aksakals, businessmen and youth.
“We do not need military personnel and employees of the internal affairs bodies with excess weight. How will they catch criminals? Let them do sports. It is for their own benefit,” the head of state said.
Mirziyoyev noted that not only security officials, but also others should be involved in sports.
In December 2018, the president signed a resolution “On measures to prevent non-communicable diseases, support a healthy lifestyle and increase the level of physical activity of the population.”
The head of state instructed to introduce into practice a procedure in accordance with which the following state bodies and organizations should conduct:
- exercises of productive gymnastics during the working day;
- “Health Day” at least once a week with participation of workers in physical culture events (running, swimming, football, volleyball, basketball, tennis and others)
- regular sports competitions and other physical culture events among workers.
In addition, government bodies and organizations were instructed to establish special breaks due to technology, production organization and working conditions, which are included in working hours, for employees to perform productive gymnastics exercises.
In Namangan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev also declared that the law enforcement officers would soon put on new uniform.
Earlier it was reported that in accordance with the presidential decree and the Concept for development and implementation of modern military uniforms for military personnel and employees of the Armed Forces, a special working group is consistently working to create new models of military uniforms.
It is planned that the first samples of the created clothes will be tested in military units, while the opinion of military personnel, youth and public will be deeply studied, proposals will be generalized, and then production of uniforms will be arranged in a wide range.
