Kazakhstan exported more than 22 billion cubic meters of gas in the first 10 months of last year. This is 14.5% more compared to the same period in 2017, "Khabar 24" reports.
Growth in exports is due to the increase in supplies to Russia and China. The Russian Federation bought more than 7.5 billion cubic meters of gas, while China increased the volume by 7 times. According to the latest data of the country's energy ministry, in 2018, China imported 5.8 billion cubic meters of gas from RK.
The expansion of sales markets also affected export growth. Delivery to Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan in small quantities has started. The volume of exports to Switzerland, Ukraine and Uzbekistan has decreased.
In general, Kazakhstan sold gas for $1,700 billion in this period. As of January 2019, 9 million people in Kazakhstan (almost half of the country's population) were provided with gas supply. The authorities intend to increase this number.
