Uzbekistan increases car production by 51% in January-February
Car production in the first two months of 2019 increased by 51 percent compared to the same period last year. This is evidenced by the data of the State Statistics Committee.
If in January-February 2018 25,5 thousand cars were produced, this year this indicator exceeded 38,6 thousand. Production of trucks increased by 2.6 times (from 296 to 782 units) and buses by 2.1 times (from 94 to 194).
At the same time, almost all cars remain in the country as Uzbekistan has sharply reduced exports. For example, in January this year, Uzbekistan exported cars for $200,000. This is 98 percent less than in January 2018.
The main reason for reducing export is the decision of the company’s leadership to sell cars at a low cost than in the internal market.
Earlier it was reported that for 9 months in Russia there was not a single sale of cars produced under Ravon brand.
