ISUZU D-MAX cars may be produced in Samarkand

A solemn ceremony dedicated to the 20th anniversary of establishment of the enterprise was held at the Samarkand Automobile Plant. Zarnews reports about it.

In March 1999, the commercial activity of the Samarkand automobile plant began with manufacturing modern buses. Initially, the company launched production of 2 types of buses, 3 types of trucks, jointly with the Turkish company Koç.

Later on, the LLC SamAuto set up partnerships with Japanese companies ISUZU Motors and Itochu corporation. At present, Samarkand automobile plant produces 7 types of modern buses, 36 different types of trucks and special vehicles for both urban and external use.

In the past period, Samarkand car manufacturers created and manufactured their own national product - LE60 low-chassis urban bus.

Today, the company employs more than 1,200 people. So far, the plant has produced more than 33,700 buses and trucks. These vehicles are being used in our country, at the same time, they are being exported Central Asian countries, Russia, Azerbaijan and Georgia.

The regional governor Erkinjon Turdimov congratulated the factory staff and foreign partners on the 20th anniversary of establishment of the enterprise. He highlighted the role of SamAvto in the economy of our country and handed over the memorable gift of the regional administration to the plant management.

In addition, representatives of ISUZU Motors and Itochu corporations made speeches at the ceremony, noting that cooperation with Samarkand automakers is of their utmost importance. They also stated that they are ready to further expand production and further expand the range of products.

Following the ceremony, the Japanese partners demonstrated a D-MAX car produced by ISUZU Motors to representatives of the Samarkand regional administration and Uzavtosanoat. According to them, it is planned to produce such cars in the future.
