SCC officers of Uzbekistan detain Russian citizen accused of hijacking Toyota Camry
Employees of the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Uzbekistan detained a citizen of Russia who was driving a car hijacked in the Russian Federation, the Public Relations and Media Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan said on Saturday.
On March 17, according to information received from the SCC, it became known that on February 28 as a result of operational activities carried out by employees of the State Customs Committee at the border and customs post "Navoiy", when checking documents of a Toyota Camry car, it was found out that the vehicle was earlier hijacked in the Russian Federation. The driver was detained.
The State Customs Committee opened a criminal case, an investigation is underway.
On the fact of the stolen car and the suspect, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation had reported earlier.
