HUMO cards may become international
Earlier, it was reported that a new payment system – HUMO is being created in Uzbekistan.
The Central Bank, which is engaged in this work, reported that during 2019 it is planned to ensure the complete functioning of the payment system.
Shukhrat Kurbanov, who previously headed another payment system GlobUz, became the head of HUMO.
As part of the international financial-banking forum, which is taking place in Tashkent on March 27-30, Kurbanov told “Uzbekistan 24” TV channel reporters that they want to make HUMO cards international so that they can be used both in Uzbekistan and abroad.
To this end, he said, negotiations are underway with representatives of 21 countries within the framework of the forum.
When developing HUMO, the Russian experience is mainly used – there is a national payment system “Mir”. According to Kurbanov, it is known to everyone and has much in common with HUMO. Moreover, negotiations are underway to establish links between the two systems.
