Uzbekistan may become the second largest economy in the CIS space – Anatoly Kazakov
Uzbekistan may become the second largest economy among the CIS countries, said Anatoly Kazakov, Chairman of the Coordination Council of the Financial and Banking Council of CIS.
“Uzbekistan is the most developing country in the CIS. We expect that it will be the second largest economy, because the development pace is amazing - annual GDP growth is 5-6%. We see that a powerful, innovative, digital economy is growing,” Kazakov said, speaking in Tashkent today at the international financial and banking forum.
“Unfortunately, so far, there is no bank from Uzbekistan in our ranks. We have already raised this question. If one of the Uzbek banks enters the council, our integration will be closer,” he noted.
