Shavkat Mirziyoyev sets concrete tasks to ensure stability of market prices for meat and dairy products

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev defines measures to ensure the stability of market prices for meat and dairy products.

The President signed a decree on organization of the activities of the State Committee for veterinary and livestock development of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This document approved organizational structures of the committee and organizations included in its composition. The committee is headed by a chairman who is appointed and dismissed by the president at a proposal of the prime minister. The general director of the agency “Uzbekchorvanasl” is considered a deputy chairman of the committee.

A chairman of the committee is the chief state veterinary inspector, his deputies – deputies of the chief state veterinary inspector, veterinary specialists of the state veterinary supervising department – state veterinary inspectors.

According to the document, the state enterprises “Uznaslchilik” and “Uzzoovettaminotkhizmat” of the Ministry of Agriculture are transferred to the jurisdiction of the agency “Uzbekchorvanasl”.

In compliance with the decree, a procedure for insuring livestock will be developed in Uzbekistan. In addition, the Tashkent branch of the Samarkand Institute of Veterinary Medicine will be established.

In order to ensure price stability for meat and dairy products, at least two of the followings will be created in each district:

- enterprises specialized in feeding cattle for slaughter;

- organizations specialized in the production of milk and dairy products.

The decree also approved the forecast indicators of livestock numbers, meat and dairy products for 2019-2020. According to the current indicators, it is planned to feed 13,825 livestock, produce 3 million 646,300 tons of meat and 11 million 882,500 tons of milk by 2021.
