How much does it cost to live comfortably in Tashkent without rent?

A four-person family living in Tashkent needs approximately UZS 23,512,000 per month to live comfortably without accounting for rent, according to estimates by Numbeo, one of the world's largest online databases on living conditions. For a single individual, the monthly cost of a comfortable lifestyle in the capital is estimated at around UZS 6,343,000.

The database provides a detailed breakdown of everyday expenses facing residents in the city, ranging from dining to basic grocery shopping. A meal at an inexpensive restaurant costs an average of UZS 70,000 per person, while a three-course dinner for two at a mid-range establishment is valued at UZS 400,000. Fast food options are slightly more affordable, averaging UZS 55,000 per meal. For those preparing food at home, average prices for essential grocery items include UZS 14,700 for a liter of milk, UZS 21,900 for a kilogram of rice, and UZS 22,400 for a dozen eggs. Meat products show a wider variance, with chicken fillet averaging UZS 48,200 per kilogram and beef priced at UZS 137,900 per kilogram. Fresh produce rates are stabilized around UZS 16,700 for apples, UZS 22,100 for bananas, UZS 19,100 for tomatoes, UZS 7,000 for potatoes, and UZS 4,700 for onions.

Basic utilities and communication services add another layer to the monthly household budget. For an 85-square-meter apartment, residents typically shell out between UZS 340,000 and UZS 1,200,000 to cover electricity, gas, water, and trash disposal services. Numbeo’s analysis of the overall spending behavior in Tashkent illustrates how residents allocate their resources. Grocery shopping at local stores and markets consumes the largest portion of income at 30.4 percent, closely followed by monthly housing rent at 26.9 percent. Dining out at restaurants accounts for 15.2 percent of local expenditures, while transportation takes up 9.5 percent, and fitness or leisure activities make up the remaining 8.1 percent of the average budget.
