FM of Uzbekistan, First Deputy PM of Kuwait discuss prospects for socio-economic cooperation
On March 29, 2019, Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense of Kuwait Sheikh Nasser Bin Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the press service of the MFA said.
At the meeting, the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, as well as international and regional policy issues were discussed.
The parties noted that there is a significant potential for development of Uzbekistan – Kuwait relations, giving them a multifaceted character.
Special attention was paid to priorities of development of relations in trade-economic and investment sphere, attracting financial resources of Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development and other investors for implementation of important socio-economic and infrastructure projects in Uzbekistan. The parties agreed to implement social projects in the Aral Sea region.
Mutual interest in diversification of transport corridors linking Central Asia with Middle East was also noted. In this regard, the relevance of Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan – Iran – Oman transport corridor was noted.
Views on other issues on the joint agenda were also exchanged at the meeting.
