According to a report of the Central Bank, Uzbekistan plans to sell 80 tons of gold abroad in 2019.
This is the first time that sales data is disclosed in tons and information is provided for previous years. So, for example, at the beginning of the year, the State Statistics Committee disclosed the amount of exported gold for 2018 ($2.9 billion), but not volumes.
The Central Bank stated that the last three years Uzbekistan has been exporting 70-80 tons of gold – in 2016, it was 70 tons, in 2017 – 80, in 2017 – 70.
The report predicts that average world prices for gold this year will rise by $1,320 per troy ounce. In 2018, the average price was $1268, in 2017 – $1258, in 2016 – $1248.
