Ismatulla Irgashev discusses launch of a political process in Afghanistan with EU Special Representative
Ismatulla Irgashev, Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, met with the delegation of the European Union headed by Peter Burian, Special Representative for Central Asia, and Roland Kobia, Special Envoy for Afghanistan, who arrived in our country on a working visit.
The meeting discussed the efforts of Uzbekistan to facilitate the launch of the political process in Afghanistan and possible interaction in this direction, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
The sides also reviewed infrastructure projects being implemented by Uzbekistan in Afghanistan and prospects for bilateral and multilateral social and humanitarian projects within the framework of economic assistance in this country.
According to the press service, within the framework of their visit, the European delegation will tour the Surkhandarya region and get acquainted with the activities of the logistics center Termez Cargo, taking measures to expand its capabilities, aimed at stimulating the development of trade with Afghanistan.
