Salaries of Heads and Executive Secretaries of Mahallas to be increased
Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree “On measures to fundamentally raise the status of the Mahalla institute in dealing with the problems of the population”.
According to the document, a gradual increase in salaries of heads and executive secretaries of Mahalla’s (citizens’ assemblies) is expected in Uzbekistan. From May 1 of this year, the monthly wages of these workers will increase 1.25 times, and from October 1 - 1.2 times.
In addition, the president ordered to introduce in the republic a system of interaction in dealing with appeals, identifying and solving problems of the population based on the principle of “Mahalla - Sector - People’s reception - Mahalla”.
It is also expected that “Venerated Elders” groups will be organized in order to rationally use the rich life experience of the older generation and retirees from among former law enforcement officers in maintaining the stability of the social and spiritual atmosphere in neighborhoods.
From June 1, 2019, the conclusion and termination of employment contracts with employees of Mahallas will be carried out by the first deputy chairmen of district (city) councils for coordinating the activities of citizens’ self-government bodies.
