The Creative Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan jointly with the Center for Retraining Journalists announced a contest for the XIV National Journalism Award “Oltin qalam” (Golden pencil). The results of the contest will be traditionally announced on May 3 – World Press Freedom Day, the press service of the MFA said.
The incentive award “For the best material of foreign journalists about Uzbekistan” is included for the third time in the list of nominations.
Last year, Osman Gökmen, the Head of the Office of Turkish Radio and Television Corporation “TRT” in Uzbekistan was the winner of this nomination. As well as the productive works of Micaela Zucconi, an Italian independent journalist, Avaz Yuldashev, correspondent of “Asia-Plus” news agency of Tajikistan, Tulanbay Kurbanov, correspondent of “Kabar” news agency of Kyrgyzstan in Uzbekistan were highly appreciated.
