Uztransgaz comments on cases of carbon monoxide poisoning in winter season
At a press conference held on April 5 with the participation of representatives of the Board of JSC Uztransgaz, the topic of numerous cases of carbon monoxide poisoning during the last winter season 2018-2019 was touched upon.
“We are not indifferent to such tragic incidents. We are also concerned about the issue of people's compliance with safety measures for using gas heating appliances,” the head of the department Akmal Eshonkulov said.
“The JSC Uztransgaz uses modern gas appliances and energy-saving technologies.
In particular, based on the experience of advanced countries, the work is underway to move from a 3-step gas distribution system (high, medium, low) to a 2-step (high, low).
The first pilot project was launched in the “Usmon Yusupov” neighborhood of Kibray district, Tashkent region. In 189 families of the neighborhood, a 2-step gas distribution system was applied. Supply regulators were installed at the inlet in metal boxes, and a gas consumption monitoring system was also installed through the “ITRON” program, which provided control on a special monitor installed in the district dispatch center.
Most importantly, 189 detectors were installed, which instantly alert you to a gas leak and carbon monoxide accumulation. Such experimental systems will soon be installed all over Uzbekistan”, Akmal Eshonkulov told Kun.uz correspondent.
It should be noted that reports of carbon monoxide poisoning have become frequent in the media. Dozens of people died and suffered from carbon monoxide over the past autumn-winter period.
