Emomali Rakhmon’s visit to Tashkent postponed
Emomali Rakhmon's visit to Tashkent, where the second consultative meeting of the heads of Central Asian states was scheduled for April 12, was postponed to a later date, Asia-Plus reports.
According to the report, the meeting was postponed with the consent of the presidents themselves.
“The exact date of the upcoming meeting of Central Asian leaders in Tashkent is not yet known, it will be clarified through diplomatic channels,” the statement reads.
It should be recalled that this format of meetings was initiated by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the first meeting of leaders in Astana in March last year.
Then Mirziyoyev proposed his colleagues to meet annually on the eve of Navruz and invited everyone to Tashkent in 2019.
According to a source in the government of Tajikistan, due to the fact that schedule of presidents gets busy around this time of the year, the leaders of the region decided to meet later.
The agenda of the upcoming meeting includes the development of cooperation between countries in all areas: in the trade-economic, transport-communication and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
