Uzbekistan may freeze electricity tariff price for 3 years starting from 2023

In accordance with the Government decree of April 13, the main directions of the tariff policy in the field of electricity until 2030 was approved, the Telegram channel of the Justice Ministry said.
Included in the main directions of the policy is the establishment of “reasonable and competitive” tariffs for consumers and social protection of the poor and needy segments of the population in determining tariffs.
Until 2023, the tariff setting method should be gradually introduced, and from 2023, the established electricity tariffs will remain unchanged for at least three years.
Among the principles of tariff formation approved by the document is the use of a non-discriminatory approach and the prevention of unjustified political influence.
