President Mirziyoyev calls for targeted action to prevent energy disruptions before cold season
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has instructed officials to eliminate persistent problems with electricity outages, natural gas pressure, and liquefied gas supplies before the start of the autumn-winter season.
The directives were issued after the president was briefed on an analysis of citizens' appeals related to the fuel and energy sector, as well as preparations for the upcoming cold season.
According to the report, 39,220 appeals concerning the fuel and energy sector were submitted during the first half of 2026. This represents a decrease of 13,820 complaints, or 26.1%, compared with the same period last year.
Half of all appeals were related to natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas supplies, while 38.3% concerned electricity services. Citizens most frequently complained about delays in refilling liquefied gas cylinders, electricity outages, the construction and repair of power networks, and insufficient natural gas pressure.
Despite the decline in the number of complaints, participants at the meeting stressed that such appeals should not be viewed as isolated cases but as indicators of broader shortcomings in regional infrastructure and public service delivery.
The president instructed relevant agencies to inspect neighborhoods and facilities that continue to generate repeated complaints before the autumn-winter season begins. Officials were also ordered to assess the technical condition of electricity and gas networks and address identified deficiencies through targeted regional action plans.
Additional instructions included repairing power grids and transformers in areas experiencing frequent outages, improving the readiness of emergency response teams, resolving problems related to natural gas pressure, ensuring strict compliance with liquefied gas cylinder delivery schedules, and mobilizing additional reserves for regions with the highest demand.
