Prosecutor General’s Office of Uzbekistan calculates the amount of damage from economic crimes
In January-March 2019, 603 criminal cases committed in the economic sphere (527 in 2018) were filed for prosecution, Prosecutor General’s Office reports.
During the reporting period, the prosecution authorities established damage in the amount of 330.8 billion soums, while for the three months of last year the amount was equal to 121.3 billion soums. Of these, during the investigation, 303.9 billion soums were recovered (115.6 billion soums in 2018), and the remaining claims (for 26.9 billion soums) were sent to the courts for further consideration and compensation.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, 293.2 billion soums compensation were provided to the state for damage. For the same period last year, the figure was 98.2 billion soums.
In addition, during the first three months of 2018, 6.2 billion soums were recovered in favor of citizens and economic entities that do not have a state share, and this year - 11.6 billion soums.
