Military forces of Uzbekistan, Turkey and Pakistan started joint exercise in Jizzakh region
The joint exercise “Commonwealth Shield - 2019”, which started on April 22 at the “Forish” training camp (Jizzakh region), continues. On April 23, soldiers of three states conducted preparatory exercises.
“Representatives of the armed forces of Uzbekistan, Pakistan and Turkey conducted an area reconnaissance. We discussed organizational issues for conducting special operations,” the press service of the Defense Ministry of Uzbekistan reported.
During the exercises, servicemen of the three counties’ armed forces are faced with the task of developing the most effective ways and methods to prevent and combat conditional threats at regional and global levels. They exchange experience and knowledge in conducting special operations in remote mountainous terrain.
Joint exercises of the Defense Ministry of Uzbekistan, armed forces of Pakistan and Turkey will continue until April 27.
It should be recalled that in October 2017, joint exercises of the mountain-rifle subunits of Uzbekistan and Russia were held at the “Forish” training camp, and in July 2018, joint exercises of the special units of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan took place.
