Until January 1, 2021, Uzbekistan should introduce a “Single Window” customs information system that meets the criteria for recommendations and guidelines for creating a “Single Window” mechanism developed by the United Nations Center for Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business.

The corresponding decree was signed on April 23 by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The document states that the system will provide mechanisms that allow subjects of foreign economic activity to submit standardization information and documents using a single telecommunication channel. It will also allow the exchange of all available information regarding foreign trade transactions.

Other advantages of the “Single Window” system include the ability to remotely track the stages of issuing permits, complete transition to maintaining publicly available registers of permits in electronic form, as well as maintaining up-to-date open data on the epizootic, quarantine and phytosanitary situation in Uzbekistan and foreign countries.

In addition, the president instructed to create a working group on the implementation of measures to improve the processes of foreign economic activity, which, before October 1, 2019, needs to be analyzed in the area of reforming customs administration, improving the efficiency of state control, and reducing the costs of traders.

According to the results of the analysis, a concept will be developed to improve the process of foreign economic activity and a roadmap for its implementation will be worked out.
