Russia awaits Mirziyoyev’s visit at the end of 2019
The XX meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation took place on April 24, Finanz.ru reported.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state of trade-economic relations and prospects for their development.
The Minister of Economy of Uzbekistan Botir Khodjaev noted the strengthening of trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation.
“I especially want to emphasize that it is the deliveries of ready-made, processed agricultural products that are growing, because this is already being done in cooperation with our Russian colleagues. These are companies that work with Uzbek producers, and it will ensure the delivery of high-quality agricultural products to the Russian market,” he said.
Khodjaev also noted the growth of joint ventures between Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation - in the first quarter of 2019, their number increased by 400 enterprises compared to the same period last year.
The Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Oreshkin, in turn, stated that trade relations between Russia and Uzbekistan over the past two years has increased by 20%, which is one of the highest indicators among the CIS countries. He also said that Russia is waiting for the visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the end of the year.
