Mississippi Governor visits Armed Forces Academy of Uzbekistan
Within the framework of his stay in Uzbekistan, Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant visited the Academy of the Armed Forces of our country.
The delegation led by the Governor, which includes representatives of Mississippi state administration, enterprises and companies conducting their activities in the field of trade, innovation, agricultural and educational industry familiarized themselves with the infrastructure and educational-material base of the academy, which is the center of military science and the leading higher military education institution of Uzbekistan.
The guests held negotiations with the faculty. In particular, representatives of the delegation became acquainted with the activity of Professor Gregory Gleason, an employee of the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies, at the Academy.
It should be noted that Professor Gregory Gleason has successfully conducted training courses on international security at the Academy of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan since Nov 2018.
The US delegation visited the museum of history of the Academy, examined the classrooms, the information resource center and the living conditions created for the cadets.
The commander of the Mississippi National Guard - Deputy Governor of the State, Major General Janson D. Boyles, who was present in the delegation, expressed hope for further strengthening of bilateral cooperation. He noted the importance of increasing the exchange of experience between the armed forces of Uzbekistan and the United States.
