Initial drilling works at the Yunusabad metro line completed. “Yunusabad”, “Turkistan” stations to be added to the line
In Tashkent, about one and a half kilometers long drilling works have been completed in the first section of the tunnel between the new stations in the Yunusabad metro line. It is reported by the JSC Uzbekistan Railways.
With the assistance of the German Herrenknecht tunnel drilling technique, 938 sets of reinforced concrete rings were installed and reached a special section designed for connecting the Yunusabad line to the “Shahriston” station.
At the same time, the second phase construction of the Yunusabad line is underway. The total length of the new road is 2.93 kilometers. Today, the tunnel construction-erection works of the subway are being carried out in open and closed methods. More than 180 qualified engineers and specialists, around 40 modern specialized mechanisms are working on this project. Open style construction works of the tunnel have almost been completed.
The project is expected to be finished by the end of 2019. Upon completion of this construction work, two additional stations will be added to the Yunusabad metro line. These are “Yunusabad” and “Turkistan” stations, both of which are built on the basis of eastern architectural designs.
