Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover increases by 24.6% in January-April 2019
According to the State Statistics Committee, in January-April 2019, Uzbekistan led trade relations with more than 154 countries of the world. In particular, the foreign trade turnover of the republic in the reporting period amounted to $12,571.1 million and increased by $2,485.9 million (24.6%) compared to the same period last year. Exports reached $5,256.4 million (growth rate - 14.3%), and imports - $7,314.7 million (growth rate - 33.3%). The foreign trade deficit amounted to $2058.3 million.

The development of foreign trade relations of Uzbekistan is based on real needs of national economy, which is in process of market reforms. It is planned to integrate Uzbekistan into the world economy and to occupy a worthy place among the developed countries of the world in the near future.
In January-April 2019, the number of enterprises engaged in goods exports, in comparison with the same period of last year, increased by 479 units and total amount reached 3,327 units.
As a result of the measures taken by government of the republic to strengthen cooperation with the CIS countries and comprehensive support for foreign trade, the share of mutual trade with the CIS member states in Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover in January-April 2019 reached 34.4% ($4329.2 million), the growth rate of which is 134.0% more than in 2018.
