Uzbekistan, Belarus approve $164 million pipeline of new joint industrial projects
Uzbekistan and Belarus have agreed to launch seven new joint manufacturing projects valued at $164 million after signing a cooperation development plan for 2026–2030 aimed at expanding industrial collaboration and increasing bilateral trade.
The agreement was signed during the third Forum of Regions of Uzbekistan and Belarus by Deputy Prime Ministers Jamshid Khodjayev and Yuri Shuleiko.
The roadmap sets a target of raising bilateral trade to $2 billion while strengthening industrial cooperation and implementing new joint investment projects. It identifies six priority areas for collaboration: electrical engineering, the textile industry, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, construction materials manufacturing, and the furniture industry.
The two sides also approved a schedule of reciprocal regional visits for 2026–2027 and signed 14 interregional cooperation agreements.
Speaking at the forum, Khodjayev said industrial cooperation remains a central pillar of bilateral relations.
"Particular emphasis has been placed on expanding industrial cooperation. Joint projects are already underway in the production of cable products, tractors and pharmaceuticals, as well as poultry processing and the assembly of mining equipment. These initiatives create sustainable production chains, new jobs and long-term mutual interest," he said.
The forum also marked the launch of seven new projects with a combined value of $164 million. They include a knit fabric dyeing and drying complex in Andijan region, the first phase of a poultry cluster in Tashkent region, and projects in Fergana region focused on the storage, rapid freezing and processing of fruit and vegetable products.
