Uzbekistan, Russia conclude several agreements on military-technical cooperation

Several contracts were concluded within the framework of the Uzbek-Russian intergovernmental commission meeting on military-technical cooperation (MTC), which was held on May 23 in Samarkand. This is reported on the website of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation.
“During the meeting, the current issues of bilateral cooperation in the framework of implementing the Treaty between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan on development of military-technical cooperation reached on November 29, 2016, were discussed. The parties confirmed their mutual interest in further development of military-technical cooperation and outlined specific steps to implement the agreements reached. Following the meeting, a protocol was signed, a number of contracts were concluded as part of the talk,” the press release said.
The report does not specify what kind of contracts were inked between the parties. The next meeting of the commission is scheduled for 2020 in the Russian Federation.
The meeting in Samarkand was chaired by Dmitry Shugayev, Director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC), and Atabek Ibadullayev, Chairman of the State Committee of Uzbekistan for Defense Industry.
